You have the power to touch people's lives and make a real difference. By joining our team you become part of a community of givers — and gain real on-the-ground experience. We have roles that suit everyone, whether you can give a few hours or a few days a week.

We recruit volunteers the way we recruit staff, because we consider them an integral part of our community: application, interview, criminal record check where the role requires it, and full training by our experienced team.

Working in the humanitarian field spans many roles — psychologists, social workers, educators, community and programme officers. At Vela we look for people with the right skills who are self-motivated and want to join us on our journey. We invest in our staff and management to shape careers.

Make a donation to help children have what they deserve: a safe place to live, adequate education, emotional stability, care and recovery. €20 can clothe a child living in a reception centre; €50 can cover a medical examination and prescribed medication; €100 provides 20 hygiene kits so women and children in crisis can stay clean and safe.
